Cost: $95.00 Limited Seating Must R.S.V.P

Presented by Dr. Carol Ann Watson at the Watson Learning and Wellness Center

You will learn different personality types with an overview of the characteristics of each. Then, different beliefs are created and affirmed routinely to promote change and create situations that are positive. Examples of how to change defeating thoughts to beliefs that promote change will be discussed.

PTSD Training-

Effective Strategies to Overcome Trauma

August 25, 2017- 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Cost: $95.00 Limited Seating RSVP

Presented by Dr. Carol Ann Watson at the Watson Learning and Wellness Center Co-sponsored by the America’s Academy of Coaching, Counseling, & Hypnotherapy and the Colorado Association of Psychotherapists.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can develop following a traumatic event that threatens a person’s safety, causing the feeling of helplessness. Military combat is one of the most common causes in men; however, any overwhelming stressful event can trigger PTSD, especially if the event feels unpredictable and uncontrollable. PTSD can affect a person who personally experiences, witnesses, or cleans up after a catastrophe has occurred, including first responders. PTSD can also affect the family and friends of a person who experiences the actual trauma. PTSD develops differently from person to person with the symptoms most commonly occurring within hours or days following the traumatic event; however, sometimes it can take weeks, months or, perhaps, years before they appear. An overview of PTSD will be presented. This workshop will be especially helpful for licensed therapists, domestic violence providers, victim advocates, registered psychotherapists, medical personnel and first responders. Cost is $95.00. A Certificate of Completion will be provided. Lunch not provided. Limited Seating must RSVP.

Borderline Personality Disorder Workshop

8:30am – 4:30pm on October 27, 2017

Cost: $95.00 Limited Seating Must R.S.V.P.

Presented by Dr. Carol Ann Watson at the Watson Learning and Wellness Center

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), created by Marsha M. Linehan, is an effective therapeutic modality of treatment to help people, particularly with Borderline Personality Disorders.  It assists persons in processing information and understanding and coping with certain social situations. It is helpful for persons with problems to recognize how they should and should not act when caught up in a whirlwind of emotions. It assists persons who have unstable relationships and experience mood shifts that create emotional extremes. Cognitive Behavior Therapy modalities are combined to assist in emotion regulation, acceptance and mindful awareness. Past and current research will be reviewed to show this technique’s efficacy with people who suffer from mutilating behaviors, drug and alcohol abuse, sexual abuse, domestic violence and high anxiety.

This 8 hour workshop of Continuing Education is being offered on October 27, 2017, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Cost is $95.00. A Certificate of Completion will be provided. Limited seating; lunch not provided. Please, email early to reserve a seat.
